ORGANIC WALNUT OIL

Smooth, sweet, pleasantly nutty - this is what cold-pressed walnut oil is like. It is excellent in breakfast porridges, salads and legume spreads, to which it adds a completely different dimension. Traditionally, it is also added to many cold dishes of oriental cuisine.

History

Jovis glans

Highly nutritious walnuts were a familiar delicacy to the ancient Romans, who loved to add them to their traditional dishes. They called them Jovis glans, after the god Jupiter, to whom they dedicated the walnut tree.

With the passage of time, a honey-golden oil began to be pressed from these nuts, which, thanks to its easy absorption and high content of valuable antioxidants, it was also used in the cosmetics industry.

Cultivation and origin

Gently extracted, cold pressed

The Royal Walnut (Juglans regia) is a massive deciduous tree growing up to 50 metres high. The resulting oil is extracted from its perfectly ripe fruit in a gentle way, by cold pressing.
